How I Contour & Highlight

Besides doing my eyes, contouring and highlighting have to be my favorite part about makeup. I just love how you can totally transform your face or bring out your features by simply applying some bronzer, blush, and highlight. -- Using Benefit's Hoola Bronzer and Real Techniques' Setting Brush, I start near the top of my ear and drag my brush down my cheek. I go back and forth with my brush until I have the intensity I like. I do the same to the other side. If I want my contour line to be more intense I just go back and add more product. Remember it's always better to start with less and use a light hand, rather than with a ton of product and a heavy hand.

-- I take the same bronzer, using any excess product left on my brush, and add a little color to my forehead (right along my hairline), my temples, and my jawline.

-- Using an eyeshadow brush (or any type of brush that allows you to draw more precise lines), I use the bronzer to contour down the sides of my nose and the tip of my nose.

-- I apply Milani's Baked Blush in Dolce Pink using a blush brush from Real Techniques right above my contour, and adding some to my forehead and my nose.

-- Using the same brush, I apply just a touch of highlight from Too Faced Candlelight Duo Highlighter right above my blush, down the center of my nose, and on my cupid's bow.

-- As the final step, I use a powder brush to blend everything together to eliminate any harsh lines.
